LEAG
The Living Earth & Arts Guild
The deepening of the personal center becomes the deepening of the capacity for communion. Since all things gravitate toward each other, a person only has to permit inner movements of his own being to establish his universal presence to all the Earth. ~ Thomas Berry
In a technologically oriented world that demands continuous, partial attention and multi-tasking, how might we participate in the emergence of a culture that encourages being fully present to Earth’s vibrant community of life? During LEAG’s 2 year cycle of carefully curated and self-facilitated activities, salons, and immersive experiences, participants will be invited to journey toward inter-being within Earth’s Living Community through the development of personal practices. Once developed, these deeply personal, uniquely formed practices can support one to guide and assist children, families and others who are seeking restoration and enlivenment of their own Belonging to Earth’s Living Community. Each cohort of 6-12 individuals will be encouraged to cultivate a resilient, ensouled presence to self, others and the natural world through:
Seasonally inspired, active, passive, and interdisciplinary experiences in Nature
Reflective reading/writing, eco-contemplative art-making, crafting, salons
Inner development through deep self inquiry and group sharing
Community meals, shared in silence or with round-table dialogue
Domestic and International travel as a group
LEAG is inspired by Thomas Berry and programs that were offered by The Center for Education, Imagination and the Natural World from 2000-2025; and also serves as staff and faculty enrichment and training for SOLA and other SMS programs.
